I designed this magazine for the Air Force to advertise recreational programs to the troops at Tyndall Air Force Base. The contents were collected from over a dozen facilities on the base and were edited and assembled for publication monthly. Circulation approached 4000 before it was changed to a different format to reduce cost and labor.

Publication Design
Here are a variety of samples of publication work.
I began Small Town Living in 2006 to present articles covering topics relating to small town life and simplier living. Many authors contribute now to each issue with expanded coverage now including crafts, herbs, gardening and more. Photo contributors have helped to make it an attractive read and many people write to express their appreciation for the niche it occupies. The publication is set up in InDesign and converted to a PDF for download by readers.
I was asked to take a position as Marketing Director for the 325th Services Squadron and to revive the Air Force publication I had designed a couple of years before. To the left is the initial prototype. The publication was restarted with some important changes to the prior version. Previously the SERVICES publication was self funded with no external (off base) advertisers. This version (Leisure Times) was printed off base by a contractor and an advertising sales program was created to offset printing costs. I remained on staff for nine months after creating the publication and hiring staff before leaving to pursue freelance work full time.

Miscellaneous
Besides commercial pursuits I enjoy designing in my free time, I paint in acrylic, dabble in photography and also have created some projects in Second Life. Design is more than a job to me it's a personal passion.
